Below is a collection of things we are doing within our convention center to help minimize the negative impact on the environment.
 
Recycle: Cardboard, Aluminum Cans, Glass, Plastic Bottles, Paper, Light Bulbs and Yard Waste– Containers that collect paper, plastic and glass throughout building.
 
Restroom sinks are equipped with low flow water faucets
 
Hot water throughout entire facility is produced by District Energy, which converts
more than half of its fuel from coal, oil and natural gas to biomass Rice Park
 
Light system is computer controlled and monitored 24 hours/day, seven days/week; lights are dimmed or turned off whenever possible
 
Heating and cooling systems are monitored 24 hours/ day, seven days/ week to maximize efficiency
 
Unused meeting space is neither heated nor air conditioned
 
Saint Paul RiverCentre and Xcel Energy Center are committed to creating a culture and organization that is conscious and respectful of our environment, and committed to our clients in reaching their environmentally responsible goals.  
 
Reusable and durable products are regularly purchased
 
Recyclable paper, plastic, glass and aluminum products are regularly purchased
 
Upon request, our caterer will assist in planning meal functions that use locally grown, organic products
 
Upon request, our caterer will tailor your dining experience to be more environmentally friendly
